Successful entrepreneur and champion of women’s rights, Guadalupe Alvarez is the founder and creative talent behind Penzi Bodas, an internationally recognized wedding and event planning company located in her hometown of San Miguel de Allende. When an earthquake left many families homeless in Oaxaca, Guadalupe and her staff of mostly women went to Oaxaca and built houses for hundreds of families. When thousands lost their jobs because of the pandemic, Guadalupe and Myrna Montes formed Amigos al 100 to raise funds to purchase and deliver to the most remote families. The group has delivered 45,000 care packages, more than 8,000 blankets and more than 4,000 toys with the help of many generous donors.
