Be Prepared for Dangerous Situations

1. Look up and around while you walk so you are not distracted. Avoid staring at your phone while you are walking or on the bus. Keep your eyes on the people around you.

2. Move Away from Slow Moving Cars that Come Up Alongside You. Even if the person seems confused or lost, don’t step up to
an open window.

3.Cross the street or go up to another person if someone is following you. There is safety in numbers.

4. Walk and Park in well-lit areas when you are outdoors at night. If you are in a store, you could ask an employee to escort
you to your car.

5. Trust your Intuition and don’t put being polite above your safety. If you feel uncomfortable in any kind of situation, it’s OK
to leave or ask someone to come and get you.
